Last Sunday, my best friend and I visited the Tanaka Farm Pumpkin Patch located in Irvine, CA. We had tried going two weeks prior but unfortunately, they closed the patch for the weekend due to the rain. Going to a pumpkin patch was #1 on my fall to-do list so I was very excited to finally be able to venture out this weekend and frolic amidst all the pumpkins!
Here are some tips if you plan on visiting a pumpkin patch this fall-
- Plan your outfit accordingly– Whether you’re in an area that is super muddy and rainy or (if you’re from Southern California like me) sunny and hot make sure you are dressing properly. It was about 80 degrees when we got there at 10am so needless to say wearing a wool sweater and boots was not ideal haha. You also are visiting a farm/ patch so that means a lot of dirt everywhere so make sure you wear something you don’t mind getting dirty (especially shoe wise!)
- Show up bright and early- Pumpkin patches are becoming more and more popular, especially the closer you get to the end of October. So if you want to avoid the crowds and get good pictures, show up early right when the patch opens.
- Be prepared for a lot of children– Visiting pumpkin patches are a great family activity, so that means a lot of large parties and little ones running around. So be mindful of your surroundings.
Hope you’re able to make to a pumpkin patch this fall!
